This is to let you know that 2015 Teachers Class registration is ready! Please register at your earliest convenience as seats may fill up quickly. (Prerequisite: For those who have previously taken Phase X)
As for 2015 Teachers Class in Atlanta, USA will be held on Oct 26 - 29 (Optional stitching day on 30th). The theme will be focused on Couching Techniques. Also, this design will be added to our phase 4 curriculum which will become available from/after 2015 Teachers Class.
We will be using the motif taken from Genjiko, an old game of enjoying incense developed during Heian period. The characters or Genji-mon which is used in the design symbolized the combinations of the fragrances. Also, it is a part of Kōdō (香道, "The Way of Fragrance"), which is not about contests but simply to enjoy the fragrances and reawaken our sense of smell. The idea of all of these incense games is to enjoy the process of “listening” to each fragrant wood. Genjiko characters are often used for obi and kimonos because of its high artistic quality.

We had a show and tell session during the teachers class at JEC.
This stitcher has brought tremendous pieces which were created and worked through the friendship and bonds among Nuido community. We felt a great significance for being a Nuido teacher.
We would like to share an embroidery design completed by Nuido member in USA shown at Teachers Class while ago. She has gone through many hardships and obstacles, but we all are happy to see the completed piece. It is called Noh Fan Screen - Peony and is another fan series we introduced few weeks ago which was completed by French member. Other than peonies, there are plum blossoms and wisteria.
