The Adelaide Festival Centre's OzAsia Festival was established in 2007 and its held annually around September/October. The OzAsia Festival presents work with an Asian theme by Australian and international artists; stages collaborative work between Australian and Asian artists; and presents a cross section of traditional and contemporary cultures of Asia. Over the years, the Festival has gained recognition and popularity. It is now a much anticipated annual event which attracts thousnds of local, national and international visitors to the different activities on offer from both Australian and international artists. It had primary focus on Japan and the NUIDO World exhibtion is one of the main highlights of the Festival. The exhibition was kickstarted the OzAsia Festival events on 1 September 2011 with an opening that was officiated by the Consul of General of Japan and local dignitaries from South Australia. This year, over 30,000 people participated the OzAsia Festival and over 4000 people visited the Nuido World Exhibition. Other activies during the Exhibition included: Classes catering to all phase levels Talks and Lectures on Japanese Embroidery for the public Educational activities for school groups Demonstrations Guided Tours Get-Together Party for JEC members Display of the much anticipated Fractal Project
